ODI will give me the ability to hook up data inside my bpel processes using for example CDC.It’s hard to compare these 2 products but it’s a good alternative when talking about excel data.

It’s included with every Oracle database license (other than XE), so it’s a no-cost option, and quite powerful. If you have the 11g database, it’s even pre-installed. Especially if you’re just coming from Excel (accessible by ODBC) and Oracle (accessible natively) it would be a perfectly valid choice.
