Sorry I've missed out on OWB, Oracle Warehouse Builder is indeed a very goog alternative where no licensing fees are required and you can use native pl/sql. ODI will give me the ability to hook up data inside my bpel processes using for example CDC.It's hard to compare these 2 products but it's a good alternative when talking about excel data.

How is it that you missed Oracle Warehouse Builder in your evaluation? It's included with every Oracle database license (other than XE), so it's a no-cost option, and quite powerful. If you have the 11g database, it's even pre-installed. Especially if you're just coming from Excel (accessible by ODBC) and Oracle (accessible natively) it would be a perfectly valid choice.

Hi,I have recently started evaluation of ODI and found your blog very useful. I have not been able to find answers to the following:Are there any performance benchmarks available for ODI?Table/File lookup mechanism?Data profiling/sampling mechanism?Data warehouse key generation? It would be great if you could shed light on these.Thanx in advance
